PCOS and Excessive Joint Pain

Treating Polycystic Ovary Syndrome utilizing an integrated approach

Polycystic ovary syndrome, commonly known as PCOS, is common in women of childbearing age. Although the causes are not well understood, it may be due to a combination of genetic and environmental factors. For women who experience it, the symptoms include irregular menstrual periods, excessive hair growth, acne, and joint pain. Crystal had been dealing with PCOS for many years and had tried various treatment modalities. However, she wasn’t satisfied with the outcome. She finally made an appointment at Dr. Kanodia’s office upon reviewing his website and learning about their holistic approach to medical care.

Dr. Kanodia provided a thorough treatment plan for her, which not only included taking supplements, but also included adjusting her lifestyle. During their appointment he was able to hear about her needs. He ensured that her treatment plan would be best suited for what she needs.

As part of her treatment plan, she has been working with Lauren, the Dietitian Nutritionist at KanodiaMD, on her nutritional intake. “My relationship with food has really changed. We have focused on the idea of where food fits in my life and how it impacts my overall health,” she stated. According to Crystal, she can eat food without feeling guilty and ensure it still continues to make her feel good and benefit her overall health.

Crystal has also been taking various supplements since her first appointment. She stated that the supplements have reduced the symptoms she was previously experiencing. “I can truly feel the difference. My stress and anxiety are reduced, and I am sleeping better than before,” she added.

Additionally, Crystal has undergone sessions with Nicole, the staff nurse at KanodiaMD, to address her joint pain. When she first came to KanodiaMD her joint pain was excessive. After sessions with the nurse and Danny, the physician assistant at KanodiaMD, her joint pain is manageable. She can now exercise without any pain and actually enjoys the exercises. She feels there is an improvement and hopes that future sessions will continue to strengthen her joints.

Within six months of treatment at KanodiaMD she can notice the difference in her health. She experiences less pain and has more energy, overall.

She concluded enthusiastically, “I plan to stay focused on my healthcare journey. So far, I have enjoyed working with the KanodiaMD team because they go to the root cause of the issue and focus on addressing it. I am also grateful that the care I am receiving is individualized to fit me specifically.”
