Special Chef Event: Riziki from Riziki’s Swahili Grill

Please join us for a Special Chef Event with Riziki Yussuf of Riziki’s Swahili Grill restaurant! She will demonstrate some of her most beloved traditional dishes inspired by the street food of the spice islands off Tanzania. In addition to being flavorful, they are also naturally dairy and gluten-free!
With an exquisite blend of Arab, Indian and Portuguese influences, Swahili cuisine is rich in flavor featuring balanced spices and fresh ingredients. Dr. Kanodia is a big fan of her food and invited her to share her talents and her cuisine at The Nourishing Plate.
She’ll treat us to tasty dishes like red snapper with a coconut cream sauce, sukuma wiki (braised greens), and ugali (traditional side dish made with cornmeal). Step out of your “recipe comfort zone” and explore the rich and deep flavors of traditional African cuisine.

Cost: $59 per person + BYOB
Includes: A tasting of Riziki’s demonstrated Swahili dishes + heavy appetizers (dairy and gluten-free). Guests will receive recipes for the prepared dishes.
