Description
To increase stomach acid and help with the breakdown of proteins in the stomach. Take with meals that contain protein.
Does Not Contain: Gluten, corn, yeast, artificial colors and flavors.
Recommended Use:
When you eat a meal that contains at least 15-20 grams of protein (4 – 6 oz of meat):
-
- Take 1 capsule of Betaine and Pepsin at the end of the meal
- Notice if you feel any discomfort in the stomach or belly button area. This may include: a warming sensation, heaviness, burning, bloating or other GI distress. If any of these symptoms occur and become uncomfortable, you can drink 8 oz. of water mixed with 1 teaspoon of baking soda (aluminum free if possible). This will neutralize the acidity. **If you notice any of these symptoms you DO NOT NEED Betaine and Pepsin.
- If you don’t notice any symptoms when taking 1 capsule with a protein meal, stay at this dosage for each meal with protein that day.
- The next day you can increase to 2 capsules taken at the end of meals with protein. Monitor for any symptoms. You can continue to increase your dosage by 1 capsule each day until you notice symptoms as described in #2 above, or you reach 5 pills.
- When you experience symptoms, you will know your ideal Betaine and Pepsin dosage is 1 capsule LESS than the dose that caused the symptoms. For example, if you felt the discomfort going from 4 pills to 5 pills, then 4 pills is your proper dosage for each protein meal. You can then switch to taking your capsules at the beginning or with your meals.
